Dawn of Desira Empty Dawn of Desira

Post  Isilra Tue Mar 06, 2012 3:05 am

Emerging from the depths of the most barren lands, covered and a black mist that never fell, lifeless trees, dead land, and bleak waters arose a new voice upon the decree of humanity. The Desira sent one to meet with the Drakin on their terms, wherever they saw fit to see them. This "race" was not known by the Drakin and would most likely be assumed to be Isilrians but they were far different. Their black skin set them apart from the Isilra, not only that but their physiques were taller and more muscular, though they moved at the same, weightless pace.

A black rider came forth into the valley unhesitatingly and road through the village. His black horse wore red armor with spikes, spars, and blades covering its entirety. No matter the race, no one would dare to touch this beast as it road toward the center of the establishment.

"The Desira wish to speak with those whom carry hatred toward a common foe, go now and discuss where they shall meet your leader. We will go on your terms Dragon Kiin!" He yelled as his horse stood deathly still, having no fear of its surroundings. When the horse had stopped they may notice his pointed ears, a sign he was an elf.

Wherever the Drakin chose to meet them, they would arrive first on horseback. Their armored steads road faster than those of elven riders, when approaching one might notice their red eyes and pitch black hair. Their manes and tails were long and not groomed - with visible uneven patches amongst the hair - and their armor was black as tar, not even a glint of light reflected off it. It was adorned with spires of metal meant to harm another horse when running along side it, spikes on the bridal for the horse to stab something when tossing its head, and distinctive sparred hoof guards that would bludgeon anything they came into contact with.

The drakin upon hearing the foot falls of a fast horse emerged from thier homes and kain from the capital expecting an elf of Rivendell but they were quiet surprised at what they saw. Kain raised an eyebrow as he walked forward and looked over the horse and the man riding it. His scales hardened only slightly, be a small amount intimidated by the appearance of the horse and its rider. The drakin at this point, being unfriendly toward outsiders in general, had surrounded the rider, none of them looked ready for battle, no armor or weapons but the drakin needed neither.

"Are you some sort of elf? We have already met with your kind, are you that dis organized?" he thought for a moment "No...no your something else entirely, look at you. Before i say anything what...what are you creature, and be common enemy, you mean the humans?" he seemed confused, it looked and carried itself as a rider from the elves he despised so, yet it was completely different in so many aspects, he had no idea how to respond to this man.

"Do not compare us to those lowly beings whom call themselves elves. I am Nalrak, Son of Drow, the common foe in which I speak is that of the disgusting human race. They have declared our very existences to be obsolete, our kind inferior, I have come to ask that you select a place where our Lord may meet with you in person. The elves neglected to invite Desirians to their so-called truce conference and so we hold no ties to their rules. You hate the race of men and that of the elves as do we," he said while atop his horse. Should the Drakin accept the offer of a meeting he would dismount and offer him his hand, taking Kain by the wrist the Drow's custom way of shaking hands.

Kain nodded and smiled "Very well, i will meet this leader of yours. Would he be comfortable meeting me here? there are many things i have to handle now that the war is finally going to begin, our vengeance finally having a chance to be sent down upon the humans." He would , when the drow dismounted, do the same. Grabbing his wrist as the drow does to kain. "I have only heard legends of a race such as yours." Kain said with an interested smile.

"He shall come then in a day to follow this. We wish not to distract from your duties here, only to come to some kind of conclusion of where you stand on the human's foolish decree...and perhaps that of the elves." He made no change in expression when Kain smiled. "The Elves are the cause of that however that would be best left to another time. I will inform our Lord of your decision, be expecting him and his guards. His legion is of black riders and I, the rider stained in red, shall return in one day's time." When they had finished he mounted his horse and jerked it swiftly to turn around and sped off from which he came.

The day following the Desirian legion approached in the morning, having traveled solely throughout the night they arrived at the crack of dawn.

As the legion approached the entrance to the valley they would see drakin rangers lining the ridges, at this point not trying to hide themselves. At a command yelled by Kain it seemed as if they melted into the brush and mountain vegetation. Kain and a few of his honor guard walked over to them to greet thier ruler. "Welcome to the great land of Darastrix, the homeland of the drakin. Sadly since we are unfamiliar with your race as of right now, the legion must remain here, your leader and a select few guards may come with me."

At the front of the riders a man signaled for the legion to halt, with the raise of his hand the horse all stopped dead in their tracks. He worn a black trench coat, blackened armor on his wrists, chest, and vital areas, and at his side was a broad sword as dark as tar in color with silver accents. His hair was silvery-white and came to his shoulders, his eyes were a piercing gold and his skin was dark gray. Without a word he four others moved forward to his side, one of which was the red horsemen who had come before.

"I am Lord of the Desira, Dantra Noquar. These four shall be my escorts," he said sternly. His voice was deep and sounded somewhat demonic.

Kain nodded at him, not frightened or put off in the least by his appearance. He gestured for him to follow Kain as they moved toward the city, the city looked rural and peaceful but at this point they could see soldiers training nearly devoid of armor or weapons, using strange other worldly magik some of which just looked like they were speaking and causing things to happen, dummies would catch fire, other would fly back as if hit by some invisible force. Kain stopped at the larger meeting house.

"This is where we shall converse?" He said calmly. "You village seems more peaceful than I had anticipated. Has the decree had no affect on the people?" The others followed silently behind their leader. They all knew their place in his presence and the consequences of stepping out of line.

Kain nodded "Yes and it has had an affect but life here goes on as normal we have always taken the idiocy and hatred of the humans in stride and the war will never reach inside this village. The mountains and the Rangers of the Drakin will defend our peaceful way of life. We once lived in peace with all races, then the human grew arrogant, but we have not changed. Seasons ay come and go, but we will never change." He smiled proud looking out at his people.

He and his escorts dismounted and stood before the Drakin, matching their height.

"Allow me to introduce my comrades," he said with a distinct glare of pride. "You've met our rider, Nalrak." Nalrak bowed fully but kept his eyes fixed on Kain, his black hair fell slowly over his shoulders. "My Daughter, Kirin, no eyes more keen then hers." She looked upon Kain and bowed her head slightly, as her hair moved it revealed a small bat perched upside down like an earring. "Sethos, non surpass his Necro-magika." His eyes glowed of blue flames and his left hand wore chains of the same energy. "Finally, Dreaja. One of the few Ignis remaining in the foothills of Anthatal." She stood proudly before Kain, he may have encountered her ancestors and recognized what she was.

He nodded as he introduced his riders and he smiled "There is no need for such formalities here, do not bow your heads, i am not your lord." In drakin cultures saying for some one to not bow there heads is a great sign of respect and friendship. He looked at Dreaja "I was under the impression your kind had disappear from Aerrath long ago, i used to know ancestors of yours. Tell me how many of your kind are left? Some of them were great friends to the Drakin."

Nalrak rose from his bow and continued watching Kain with a concentrated stare, reading his movements, reactions, patterns. Nalrak was accustomed to calculating the every move of the creatures he was sent to negotiate with and having Dantra himself come to a foreign land made him even more cautious. Dreaja began nodded and began slowly to speak.

"Only a few hundred of my kind remain in the foothills. I doubt you haven't heard that the humans banished us to that forsaken land," she said is a distastefully arrogant voice. "Anthatal is filled with behemoths, Fire lizards, Barren Demons, and other bloodthirsty beings. The Desira has sheltered what is left of us from these creatures." She tilted her head a bit with the last of this. She seemed arrogant and disrespectful but Kain would know that is how her kind are.

Kain nods "Im sorry to hear about the plight of your people. Dont worry the humans will suffer for what they have done to all our races. We recently found out the Snow Wolves of the northern plains have been nearly annihilated by human expansion and settlement. I already have a small detachment of rangers heading up north to see what they can do. My military is small, I've never needed more than the Rangers. Another group went with a raiding party of orcs and have destroyed a larger human town in that area, the humans know we arent going to give in without one hell of a fight."

A few of Kain's officers walked up, one female drakin that looked a bit like kain, another drakin that was completely red and scaled with large horns and small wings, and the last was more human but had red scales covering her arms and wings, no tails or horns though. Kain looked at them and smiled "This is my sister Kia, my best scout Drakio and one of the most skilled archers in the rangers, his sister Drakia." Kia and Drakia bowed their heads respectfully but drakio just nodded a greeting.
